Add data layers to your map by clicking the “Add Data” button in the top left corner. Turn on reference layers, such as highways, county boundaries, or place names, by clicking the hamburger menu on the right side of the map legend accordion.
You can find data to add to your map by typing a keyword in the search box, such as poverty, housing or food. Or click on “Browse by Topic” or Browse by Source” link to view a list of data to choose from.
Click the checkbox next to the layer you want to map, then click the “Add to Map” button at the bottom of the dialog window to add the selected layers to the map.
Zoom into your location of interest. Use the “+” and “-” buttons or type in the name of a city, county, address, or zip code in the Location Search bar.
Explore the advanced mapping tools by clicking the “Tools” button at the top of the map or open the “Tools” accordion. Complete a query, select data, use the mask tool, or measure a distance.
Share or export your map by clicking the “Share” and “Export” icon links above the legend.
